SCREENPRINTING
Having first appeared in China around 1200 AD, screenprinting was introduced to Western Europe in the late 18th century. Made popularly recognizable by Andy Warhol’s serigraph depiction of Marilyn Monroe in 1962, the printing technique of using a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil was eventually perfected by Custom Logos in 1989.
Primarily a screenprinter at the inception of our company, Custom Logos has stayed true to our roots as screenprinting remains almost 25% of our business today. Incorporating the latest technologies available at our San Diego facility, we control the process from start to finish including design, film output, and state of the art garment screenprinting. EMBROIDERY
The use of embroidery to decorate clothes has been around since man began to wear clothes. This journey began when primitive man discovered that he could use thread to join pieces of fur to make clothes. The art of decorating fabric or other materials by stitching designs using thread or yarn and a needle, embroidery started around 5000B.C. with Chinese bead embroidery.
Hand embroidery involves stitching embroidery designs by hand onto the fabric. This process is time consuming and painstaking, but produces amazing results. In the late 1800′s embroidery was revolutionized by the development of sewing machines and then hand powered embroidery looms. Today’s embroidery has evolved tremendously and is essentially done by a collection of sewing machines linked by a computer.
Incorporating the latest technologies available at our San Diego facility, Custom Logos controls the embroidery process from start to finish including design, digitizing, and direct embroidery on a wide array of garments and hats.
